Terezka Kratochvílová born 1991
he was born with several serious congenital defects. During the first six years of her life she
spent much time in the Faculty Hospital in Prague. After numerous surgeries and persisting treatment, at the age of seven years, she started to attend a specialized school in České Budějovice - Child centre Arpida.
Here, in professional care of teachers, in children collective and in pleasant atmosphere
she develops her abilities and painting talent. Under the professional direction
of Alena Jankovská, she learns creative techniques and painting is becoming
more and more her favourive toy and interest. A lot of pictures are made at home where
she has her mother, the artist Růžena Kratochvílová as the exemplar .
Fruits of Terezka´s talent came soon in the form of numerous diplomas and
awards. One of the most valuable ones is certainly the Price of Council of Europe for
her interpretation of the flood in August 2002, or the first price in the international
art competition "The rose of Lidice". Her pictures were repeatedly printed in calendars
published by Unesco.
Terezka´s first one-man exhibition was held during the summer holidays in 2005 in the gallery "Kaplanka" in Český Krumlov .
